Sunday Snap: Canoes at Lake Louise

Canoes pulled up on dock at the end of the day on a mirror smooth Lake Louise.
Red canoes on the teal waters of Lake Louise, Alberta is one of those iconic Canadian scenes that makes me want to put on a Cowichan sweater and a toque. Maybe drink some Tim’s coffee while watching moose cross the road. The time of day, time of year, and the fact that I was solo in Lake Louise all conspired against me taking one of these bad boys out for a spin but it was still worth the drive up from Johnston Canyon before heading back to Banff. I just had to see for myself if the water really was that colour. And you know what? It is.

I was at Lake Louise on Victoria Day, towards the end of the day, as we drove across Canada this summer. I was slightly suprised that the lake was just starting to thaw (although I probably shouldn’t have been) so while I didn’t get the typical iconic picture, I was pretty stoked to get a pretty unique one!
I love the colours and compositions :)
